While these series is generally excellent, I think the analysis of the GSK matter may overlook two important factors:
(i) China trying to send a message to foreign companies that they are not essential; and
(ii) Chinese internal politics and the possibility of potential Chinese competitors on the scene alone or in conjunction with another foreign company.
Tom, don’t you find the punishment of the Willbros official of 15 months to be a non-deterrent. Some 19-year old driving having had a few drinks and with marijuana in his car would probably have received a longer sentence and not get to stay in as nice a prison.
